Turn your AI chat into a personal 24/7 exam tutor

Studying with AI is most effective when the model has direct access to authentic, verified exam questions and your actual test history. Without a connection, AI models frequently invent unverified questions, fabricate answers, or lack awareness of your past mistakes.

PrepSim's Remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server bridges your favorite desktop or browser AI assistant—such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, or LibreChat—directly with PrepSim's edge infrastructure on aynadhillon.com. Your AI tutor can fetch authentic practice questions, evaluate your answers with step-by-step solutions, check your spaced-repetition mistake queue, and analyze your recent mock test performance.

Step 1: Get your 1-click connection token

Before configuring your AI client, generate your personal connection token directly from your PrepSim dashboard. This cryptographic token allows your AI client to authenticate securely without storing your login password.

Sign in to your account on aynadhillon.com. On the personal home dashboard, look for the 'Connect to AI Chat (ChatGPT · Claude · Cursor)' card and click '1-Click Connect'. PrepSim instantly generates a secure 90-day bearer token and provides ready-to-copy configuration snippets formatted specifically for your AI client.

  • Sign in to your candidate account on aynadhillon.com.
  • Click '1-Click Connect' on your homepage dashboard.
  • Select your AI client tab (ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Token only).
  • Copy the pre-formatted URL or configuration snippet with one click.

Step 2: Connect ChatGPT (Custom MCP Server)

ChatGPT allows you to connect directly to custom remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP from both the web browser and desktop apps.

To add PrepSim to ChatGPT, open Settings by clicking your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner. Navigate to Developer Mode (or Connectors / Connected Apps) under Advanced Settings and ensure Developer Mode is toggled on.

Click 'Add custom MCP server' (the '+' button). Set Name to 'PrepSim', paste your personal Server URL (https://aynadhillon.com/api/mcp?token=pst_live_...), and select 'No authentication' from the dropdown because your candidate token is embedded directly in the URL.

Click 'Create'. ChatGPT will test the connection, verify the tools, and activate PrepSim. You can now prompt ChatGPT to quiz you on JEE, NEET, or UGC NET questions and review past test mistakes.

  • In ChatGPT: Settings → Developer Mode (or Connectors) → Add custom MCP server.
  • Server Name: PrepSim
  • Server URL: https://aynadhillon.com/api/mcp?token=your_token (from 1-Click Connect)
  • Authentication: Select 'No authentication'
  • Guest access: You can also connect https://aynadhillon.com/api/mcp directly without a token to practice public questions.

Step 3: Connect Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop connects to remote MCP servers using the official mcp-remote bridge. This allows Claude to communicate over standard input/output while securely relaying requests to PrepSim's HTTPS endpoint.

Open your Claude Desktop configuration file. On macOS, this is located at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json. On Windows, open %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json. Add the PrepSim server configuration under mcpServers using your generated token:

Save the file and restart Claude Desktop completely. Once restarted, click the electrical plug or hammer icon in Claude's prompt box to confirm that the PrepSim tools are active and ready to call.

  • macOS config path: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows config path: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
  • Restart Claude Desktop to load the new server definition.

Step 4: Connect Cursor or Windsurf

Cursor natively supports remote HTTP MCP endpoints without requiring local proxy tools. You can add the connection globally or within an individual project repository.

In your project or workspace, create or edit .cursor/mcp.json (or navigate to Cursor Settings > Features > MCP). Add the PrepSim remote server with your bearer token in the headers object.

Save the configuration and check the MCP servers list in Cursor Settings to verify the green status indicator next to 'prepsim'.

  • Direct HTTP endpoint: https://aynadhillon.com/api/mcp
  • Header format: Authorization: Bearer pst_live_your_token
  • Works across macOS, Linux, and Windows without command-line dependencies.

Free plan support: which AI apps work for free?

You do not need an expensive AI subscription to use PrepSim's MCP server. The open Model Context Protocol standard allows several leading AI tools to connect directly on their 100% free tiers.

Here is the breakdown of which free plans support connecting to PrepSim:

  • ChatGPT: Supports custom MCP servers via Developer Mode / Connectors. Connect your personal URL (https://aynadhillon.com/api/mcp?token=YOUR_TOKEN) with 'No authentication', or use the public URL without a token to practice questions.
  • Claude Free Plan (Claude Desktop): Anthropic fully supports MCP on free tier accounts. You can download the official Claude Desktop app for macOS or Windows, sign in with your free Claude account, and connect PrepSim without paying anything.
  • Cursor Free / Hobby Plan: Cursor includes native MCP support in .cursor/mcp.json on its free plan. You can invoke PrepSim tools using the included free models or requests.
  • Windsurf Free Tier: Codeium Windsurf supports remote MCP configurations on free accounts in Cascade.
  • LibreChat & OpenWebUI (Free Open Source): Completely free, self-hosted web chat clients that connect to PrepSim via Streamable HTTP using free local models (Ollama, LM Studio) or free API tiers.

How to confirm questions are coming from PrepSim

When studying with an AI assistant, it is important to know whether the model is retrieving authentic, verified questions from PrepSim or generating synthetic questions from its own training data.

You can confirm that a question is delivered directly from PrepSim in three simple ways:

  • Interactive 'Used PrepSim' Tool Pill: Whenever ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor queries PrepSim, an interactive badge appears above the response (e.g. 'Used PrepSim' or 'Calling get_practice_questions'). Clicking that badge expands the raw JSON payload showing the exact question ID, prompt, and options received from the server.
  • Official Question Reference: Every authentic question carries an official reference header: '[PrepSim Q-XXXXX · Exam Subject]'. For example: '[PrepSim Q-98779 · UGC NET Computer Science and Applications]'. You can search or verify this ID directly on aynadhillon.com.
  • Targeted Prompting: To guarantee your AI queries PrepSim, type '@PrepSim' in ChatGPT or start your prompt with 'Using PrepSim, give me a question on...'.

Supported exams and subject coverage

PrepSim's MCP server provides access to tens of thousands of authentic, verified multiple-choice and numerical questions across major Indian competitive and qualification exams.

You can request practice questions from any of the following supported exam pools:

  • JEE Main: Complete pool for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with both multiple-choice and numerical-value questions.
  • JEE Advanced: Papers 1 and 2 with full LaTeX derivations and verified scoring rules.

What you can do: example prompts and commands

Once connected, you can interact with your PrepSim AI tutor using natural conversational prompts. The AI automatically knows when to invoke PrepSim's tools to fetch authentic questions, evaluate answers, or check your test history.

Here are concrete example prompts you can copy and try right now:

  • Exam Patterns & Syllabus: 'What is the marking scheme, duration, and question distribution for BITSAT on PrepSim?'

Anti-cheating safeguards and candidate privacy

PrepSim includes an active attempt integrity lock. If you have an active, unsubmitted mock test attempt on aynadhillon.com, the MCP server automatically refuses to reveal solutions or answer keys for questions currently in your test. Complete and submit your test on the website before reviewing solutions in chat.

All MCP communications use end-to-end HTTPS encryption. Tokens are verified cryptographically on the Cloudflare edge without querying account passwords or exposing private candidate recordings. Tokens expire automatically after 90 days and can be refreshed at any time.
